Important: Please read our FAQ. It contains a few notes here and there that have answers to the questions you probably have.
Well, this is it. again Welcome to Davine (pronounced as: “divine”, /diˈvīn/)! There are probably a few questions that you have right off the bat, and there sure are some things to go over. But, for now, we’ll go over them quickly. Anything not answered in here is probably in our FAQ (linked above) and we have multiples ways to contact us, so go right ahead. We’re not strangers!
First off, what is this? Well, technically, this is our blog that is powered by the wonderful people over at tumblr. But what is Davine? Well, it’s simple. Let’s say you want to kill some time by deciding to watch some funny posts on Vine, only you don’t want to cut into your pocket or backpack or purse or pouch or satchel or orifice or safe to grab your mobile device to hop on Vine's mobile app. You want to watch them from the comfort of your own desk, bed, or computer setup or whatever you've got going on down there. But, you can't. Why can't you? Because Vine is lacking a web front-end to simply check your feed and use the Vine service. That's why.
Well, lucky for you that Davine is “the Vine for web” solution. At least until Vine decides to come up with their own, that is. On Davine, you can view Vines from the people you follow, search for new people to follow, view the Popular or On the Rise page, interact with (like, comment, revine, etc.) Vines, follow new people, discover new content creators, and more…all on Vine! Soon, we will even enable the ability to upload your own custom Vine videos (6 second limit still applies)!
With all that being said, Davine is available today starting for Google Chrome, with Firefox and Safari to come, and you can find appropriate download links at http://davine.co (not to be confused with Vine’s official http://vine.co). Have any questions, comments, or concerns that weren’t mentioned in this very brief post? Make sure to read our FAQ before you make the trip to contact us. Also, stay tuned to this blog. You can click that “follow” button in the top right to follow us on tumblr, follow us on different social media sites (links found on our contact page) or just check back here every so often to see if we’ve posted any news about our service.
Thank you for reading, and happy trails through the vineyard!

Edit: One more thing I’d like to mention is that Davine is completely ad-free and we’d like to stay that way. We make absolutely no money from this, we simply wanted to provide you with the service. Davine is also open source. So feel free to look into that a little bit (though not too impressive) if you’re into that sort of thing.
